The people who have a family history are at increased risk and should undergo periodic screening. Early stage cancers are completely curable, meaning you can have a normal life after the treatment. Even if we detect cancer at a later stage there are options for treatment to make life comfortable for the patient even though the cure is impossible. This treatment is called palliative care. How to choose treatment? After the diagnosis, there should be a confirmatory biopsy to know the nature of the cells which becomes aggressive. Then we should set our goal- if it is curable cancer we have to go all out for recovery. If it is beyond cure, we should obtain a comfort care which is very very important. This will make the life of the patient comfortable and reduce sufferings. Common cancer symptoms- Prolonged fever, weight loss, anemia, generalized tiredness.
